The Blackpool Senior Seasiders 60s completed their final round of four matches with a mixed set of results: one win, two draws, and one loss. Despite their determined efforts, the team narrowly missed out on the league title, finishing runners-up by just a single point.
While disappointment was felt at not quite securing enough points, the squad’s spirit remains strong. Over three seasons, the Seasiders have built a bond rooted in camaraderie, resilience, and a no-blame culture. As they head into the winter break, the players look forward to celebrating the festive season with friends, family, and teammates.
Manager Chris Turner expressed his frustration at losing out with only five minutes to go but was quick to praise his players, wishing them continued health, fitness, and enduring friendships. He also extended congratulations to the organisers, referees, and fellow teams for making the 2025 campaign such a rewarding and enjoyable experience.
With a touch of humour, Turner quipped, “Runners up – first of the losers,” before reaffirming the team’s determination to return stronger and compete again in 2026.
