Important information for Club Members
Basic Rules For Newcomers
A player must not use equipment or wear anything that is dangerous. ie watches. If a hat/cap is worn, its peak should point backwards.
Shinguards – should be worn by all outfield players. Goalkeepers discretionary. If a player does not wear shin pads, they are not covered by our Insurance Policy.
Footwear – Moulded studs or astro trainers only on astroturf pitches. No metal studs or blades.
Walking is defined as ‘always having at least one foot in contact with the ground . The Referee is the sole arbiter.
There is to be no running with or without the ball.
The decisions of the referee connected with play are final. The decisions of the referee must always be respected.
Abuse of players/referees/coaches will not be permitted and offenders will be asked to leave the session immediately.
A goal may not be scored directly from the kick-off.
A height restriction applies, the height of the crossbar/ barrier.
Walking Football is a non-contact sport although some contact may inevitably occur, not ALL contact will be judged a foul. Fouls and misconduct are penalised with an indirect free kick .
Match officials should employ the use of temporary exclusions (a blue card) for persistent offenders. Sin bin of 2 minutes as a suitable measure.

As a member of Blackpool Senior Seasiders Walking Football Club, you are part of a community that values respect, teamwork, and positive behavior both on and off the field. This Code of Conduct is designed to ensure that all players, officials, and supporters promote high standards of behavior, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for all participants.
General Guidelines
Respect for All: Treat all players, referees, coaches, and supporters with respect at all times. Remember, walking football is about enjoyment, fitness, and camaraderie.
Fair Play: Play by the rules of walking football. No running, physical contact, or aggressive behavior. Walking football is a game of skill and strategy, not speed or strength.
Sportsmanship: Applaud both teams, win or lose. Show appreciation to the opposing team, referees, and officials at the end of every game. Disagreements should be handled respectfully and without confrontation.
On-Field Conduct
Respect the Referee: The referee’s decision is final. Do not question or argue with the officials. Remember that referees are integral to the game and must be treated with respect at all times.
No Abusive Language or Behavior: Verbal abuse, foul language, or any form of intimidation towards fellow players, referees, or spectators is not tolerated.
Encouragement Over Criticism: Provide positive feedback to teammates and refrain from negative comments that could discourage others.
Off-Field Conduct
Respect the Club and Venue: Show consideration for club property, facilities, and the venues where we play. Ensure that any equipment used is treated respectfully and that the facilities are kept clean and tidy.
Alcohol and Substances: Consumption of alcohol or drugs before or during matches is strictly prohibited. We encourage healthy habits that align with the club’s values of fitness and well-being.
Consequences of Misconduct
Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action by the club, which could include:
- A formal warning from the club’s committee
- Suspension or exclusion from matches
- Termination of club membership, depending on the severity of the offense
