Blackpool Senior Seasiders Over 60s star player Laurence Berry has been selected to represent Afro-Caribbean Walking Football at this month’s Masters World Walking Football Cup.
The international tournament will take place at the Renewable Centre Stadium in Briton Ferry, South Wales, from 13–16 August 2026, bringing together walking football teams and players from around the world. Read more here…
Laurence has earned his place in the Afro-Caribbean Over 60s squad following a series of strong performances over his 40+ appearances for them. His selection is another proud representative honour for Laurence and for everyone at Blackpool Senior Seasiders.
Laurence and his Afro-Caribbean teammates will face a strong international line-up in the group stages. Their opponents will be France, Celtic Nations, the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Poland, giving Laurence the opportunity to test himself against some of Europe’s leading Over 60s walking football teams.
A total of 67 teams representing 19 nations are expected to compete across the tournament’s different age categories, making this a genuinely international occasion and a memorable challenge.
He will be joined in the Over 60’s squad by former professional striker Mark Stein, who played for clubs including Chelsea, Luton Town and AFC Bournemouth during an impressive career in the professional game.
The call-up gives Laurence another opportunity to compete on an international stage alongside players from across the country and against high-quality opposition from around the world.
